- In a large skillet, sauté the diced onions over medium heat until caramelized, about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add the chopped figs, orange juice, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and salt. Stir to combine.
- Reduce heat to low and simmer the chutney for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened and the flavors have melded.
- Remove from heat and let cool slightly. Transfer the chutney to an airtight container and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow the flavors to develop.
- Serve the Sweet Onion Fig And Orange Chutney with cheese, meats, or as a topping for sandwiches and burgers.
