  • 3/4 cup milk whole milk preferred
For the Strawberries
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries ripe and juicy
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
For the Whipped Cream
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  2. Mix the dry ingredients in a large bowl: flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Whisk until well combined.
  3. Cream together the butter and sugar in a separate bowl until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the wet ingredients—milk and vanilla extract—to the creamed mixture. Stir gently until just combined.
  5. Fold in the fresh strawberries gently into the batter.
  6. Pour the batter into a preheated oven-safe skillet and spread it evenly. Bake for about 25-30 minutes until golden brown on top.
  7. Cool the cake in the skillet for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  8. Top with whipped cream and additional fresh strawberries.
