Ingredients
  

Tuna Steaks
  • 4 pieces Tuna steaks (6 oz each) Fresh, sushi-grade
Marinade
  • 1/4 cup Soy sauce Low sodium preferred
  • 2 tablespoons Sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon Rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Honey
  • 1 clove Garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger, grated
Garnish
  • 2 tablespoons Sesame seeds Toasted
  • 2 stalks Green onions, sliced

Method
 

Prepare the Marinade
  1. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar, honey, minced garlic, and grated ginger.
Marinate the Tuna
  1. Place the tuna steaks in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Let marinate for 10 minutes.
Sear the Tuna
  1. Heat a skillet over high heat. Remove tuna from marinade and sear each steak for 1-2 minutes on each side for rare, or longer to desired doneness.
Serve
  1. Remove tuna from skillet, let rest for a minute, then slice against the grain. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions before serving.
