Ingredients
  

Beans
  • 2 cups cooked black beans canned or homemade
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or vegetable oil
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt adjust to taste
  • 1/4 cup vegetable broth or water
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper freshly ground

Method
 

Cooking the Beans
  1. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  2. Add the cooked black beans, cumin, salt, and black pepper to the skillet. Stir to combine.
  3. Pour in the vegetable broth and bring to a simmer. Cook for about 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
  4. Use a potato masher to mash the beans to your desired consistency, adding more broth if necessary for creaminess.
  5. Cook for an additional 5-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until heated through and thickened.
