Ingredients
  

Meat and Vegetables
  • 1 lb ground beef can substitute with ground turkey
  • 1 cup onion chopped
  • 1 cup green bell pepper chopped
  • 1 cup celery chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
Rice and Seasoning
  • 2 cups long-grain white rice uncooked
  • 4 cups beef broth or water
  • 1 tbsp cajun seasoning adjust to taste
  • 1 tsp salt adjust to taste
  • 1 tsp black pepper freshly ground

Method
 

Prepare the Meat
  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked, breaking it apart with a spatula.
  2. Add the chopped onion, green bell pepper, celery, and garlic to the skillet. Cook until the vegetables are tender, about 5 minutes.
Cook the Rice
  1. Stir in the uncooked rice, beef broth, cajun seasoning, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 20 minutes or until the rice is tender and has absorbed the liquid.
Serve
  1. Fluff the rice with a fork and serve hot. Enjoy your dirty rice with ground beef!
