Ingredients
  

Chili
  • 1 lb ground beef or turkey
  • 1 can kidney beans drained and rinsed
  • 1 can diced tomatoes with juices
  • 1 cup onion chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup beef broth
Hot Dogs
  • 4 hot dog sausages
  • 4 hot dog buns
Toppings
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup green onions sliced
  • 1 cup sour cream optional

Method
 

Prepare the Chili
  1. In a large pot, brown the ground beef over medium heat until fully cooked.
  2. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, cooking until the onion is translucent.
  3. Stir in the chili powder, cumin, salt, and black pepper.
  4. Add the kidney beans, diced tomatoes, and beef broth. Bring to a simmer and cook for 20 minutes.
Cook the Hot Dogs
  1. While the chili simmers, cook the hot dogs according to package instructions, either by grilling or boiling.
  2. Toast the hot dog buns lightly if desired.
Assemble the Chili Dogs
  1. Place a hot dog in each bun and top generously with the chili.
  2. Sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese, sliced green onions, and a dollop of sour cream if desired.
